The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing complex network architectures, providing support for both permanent installations and temporary event overlays, and offering technical guidance on cybersecurity standards and operational efficiencies.
Ideally, this role is based remotely on the East Coast, but will consider applications from outside this area.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The primary purpose of this position is to integrate and deliver a wide range of technology solutions to clients. This role works in a quality, professional manner to complete project responsibilities on time and on budget, resulting in high customer satisfaction. This position may also provide guidance and technical leadership to account teams and clients, positioning technical solutions to provide business solutions to our clients.
This position provides network infrastructure support and network security guidance to our technical operations team within PMY and to our clients in the US region.
This person will play a critical role in the design and implementation of complex network architectures. The person in this role will be required to design, support, and operate temporary and permanently installed solutions at major sports events and with our current clients inside and outside of the world of sports and entertainment to ensure excellent outcomes for all stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, design and deploy complex network architecture for temporary event overlays including WiFi, CCTV, IPTV and various production IP standards requiring QOS, VLAN segmentation, ACLs and multicast including Dante, AES67, SACN, ArtNet, etc.
- Perform discovery on client networks and provide guidance and implementation on new technologies, operational efficiencies and cybersecurity standards
- Perform full diagnostic network checks for clients including WiFi, IPTV, POS systems, ticket scanners, port security, proper VLAN segmentation/ACLs, QOS and organization of hardware, cabling and network racks to ensure 100% connectivity for all technology infrastructure for events and operations
- Develop and maintain clear and effective documentation on both client networks and temporary event overlays standards
- Provide event support for clients on an as needed basis including support of POS systems, IPTV, WiFi, ticket scanners, press functions, etc.
- Maintain and stay informed on cybersecurity standards and developments, implementing SOPs for both clients and internally
- Maintain client relationships as a trusted Technical Advisor, serving as collaborative support across internal teams and clients when necessary, using experience and judgment to communicate effectively to all parties
- Communicate effectively and implement proper escalation management procedures in the event of incidents, provide disaster recovery plans and implementation
- Continually strive to stay at the forefront of networking technology and implement new standards that will drive operational efficiency and client satisfaction
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Recent hands-on experience with Cisco Datacenter, ISE, WAN, LAN, Client Access technologies such as MACsec, HSRP, VRF, VPC, ACLs, BGP, EIGRP
- Recent hands-on experience with IOS-XE, NX-OS, Linux
- Strong knowledge of Cisco routers, switches and enterprise wireless access points
- Recent hands-on experience with client-specific internal and external transport networks
- Recent hands-on experience with Firewalls and VPN Concentrators (FTD and ASA)
- Experience with Multicast/PIM, Public Cloud (AWS/Azure), IPv6, MPLS/LDP/RSVP-TE, Software Defined Networking, Network Functions Virtualization,
- Recent hands-on experience with Network and Application load balancers
- Knowledge of, and hands on experience implementing modern network security best practices
- Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and problem resolution for on-premises, hybrid and/or cloud networking platforms
- Strong communicator – comfortable using data to diagnose challenges, identify opportunities, and drive solutions while interfacing with clients
- Resilience, agility, adaptability, and a willingness to find creative solutions in high-pressure environments
- Prepared to work weekends/outside business hours as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
- 8+ years relevant experience
- CCNA required
- CCNP preferred
- Sports and/or major event experience preferred
Expected base pay rates for the role will range between $130,000 - $180,000 per year at the commencement of employment. If hired, the exact base pay will be individually determined, taking into account the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Depending on the role, base pay is part of a comprehensive compensation package that may also include commissions, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, and a variety of short and long-term benefits offered by PMY Group.
