Job Description

Primary Function of Position

Located in Phoenix, AZ this leader will manage the Instruments, Accessories, & Endoscopes (IA&E) logistics team to achieve support of Commercial and Patient requirements. Builds an operations strategy that promotes continuous improvement in productivity, on-time delivery, quality, safety, and contributor engagement. Drives a culture of contribution and outstanding customer experience through the achievement of site and organization KPIs. Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to execute distribution strategies, allow seamless integration of systems with processes, provide effective labor planning and training, and ensure accurate measurement of results. Directly manages and develops team of leaders responsible for receiving, warehousing, and shipping of product. Provide strategic analysis and solutions to support forecasted growth, space requirements, and cost containment initiatives.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all activities related to IA&E warehousing, distribution, and global fulfillment / replenishment
  • Create strategy to assure IA&E shipping, inventory management, material handling, daily shipment of sales orders, cost management, examination of transportation methods,
  • Assure the Global Logistics team completes all necessary elements as required with shipping IA&E to overseas fulfillment sites and indirect markets and domestic customers.
  • Coordinate with International teams to coordinate staging to multiple locations to ensure IA&E availability upon customer request.
  • Demonstrate leadership ability in hiring, training, and developing employees. Drive the Global Logistics team to achieve department and corporate goals.
  • Establish and assure adherence to budgets, schedules, staffing plans, and performance requirements.
  • Develop and contribute to the long-term global logistics strategy.
  • Apply statistical skills to identify and employ strategies to optimize warehousing, inventory staging, pick, pack & ship process, and process improvement activities
  • Ensure FDA requirements are understood and adhered to
  • Identify process opportunities within the department and develop plans to close as necessary (ie. training, lean, capacity, headcount, external logistics support).
  • Develop and implement global KPI’s and ensure performance meets or exceeds existing KPI goals
  • Drive a data driven culture of cross-company collaboration and innovation

Qualifications

Skill/Job Requirements

  • Minimum BS/BA degree or equivalent and minimum 10+ years of experience managing distribution operations in a manufacturing environment. MBA preferred.
  • Must be emotionally intelligent and self-aware
  • Proficient computer experience including MS Office products and ERP systems, preferably SAP, Tableau, etc…
  • Proven track record of being an effective manager in a fast paced, high volume manufacturing or distribution company.
  • Detailed understanding of material movement in a manufacturing environment, including; import and export requirements, regulatory guidelines, high volume parcel shipments, ocean shipping, and capital equipment freight shipments.
  • Demonstrates concern for precision and thoroughness. High attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to head a high performance team to consistently achieve stretch goals and priorities.
  • Ability to provide positive direction by encouraging employees to have a commitment to high standards of quality and performance.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects successfully.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effectively manages task breakdown, helps keep individual contributors on task, player-coach, and ability to step in and perform hard tasks.
  • Ability to perform headcount and freight cost analysis and provide recommendations for reduction / improvement.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Base Salary Range Region 1:$152,000 - $228,000

Base Salary Range Region 2: $129,200 - $193,800
