UCLA Health is seeking a Senior Learning and Development Specialist whose talent for designing and delivering trainings rivals their passion for supporting the development of UCLA Health employees. The Senior Learning and Development Specialist at CORE is a collaborative team member who is comfortable delivering virtual, in-person leadership and professional development trainings.


Reporting to the Manager of Learning and Development, the successful candidate will bring to UCLA Health the best and most innovative examples of learning and development practices in both training design and delivery, as well as the facilitation of a variety of performance-based learning programs and events.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality trainings to employees at all levels of the organization.
  • In collaboration with the Learning and Development (L&D) team, develop virtual and in-person instructor-led trainings including the creation and development of all learning materials and guides (PowerPoint presentations, facilitator guides, participant guides, job aids / handouts, etc.).
  • Build relationships with health system leaders and internal client groups to understand their training needs and develop and deliver tailored curriculum.
  • Contribute to team projects that support the organization’s development such as creating system-wide learning content and supporting employee engagement initiatives.


Qualifications:

  • · Five (5) years of progressive responsibility in creating learning and development modalities.
  • Strong knowledge of learning and development methodologies; formal design and development approaches, adult learning best practices, and industry training technologies used to deploy, maintain, and monitor learning.
  • Exceptional presentation, consensus-building, and people skills
  • Advanced ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Certified in instructional design or equivalent experience
  • Additional certifications in emotional intelligence, crucial conversations, adult learning methods or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, psychology, organizational development leadership, or healthcare management highly preferred or equivalent experience.
