In your role as Field Applications Engineer (FAE), you will work with sales and be the interface between customers, Technical Marketing, and Applications Engineering for the Aerospace, Defense, and High Reliability markets. You will have the opportunity to make use of your excellent communication skills, strategic thinking, and your deep technical knowledge in the field of power semiconductors to become a trusted advisor for technical decision-makers. You will have the opportunity to position the best available technology solutions tailored to your customers’ immediate needs, while also elevating their voice internally to influence future product definitions. In this position you will also have the opportunity to develop and maintain collaborative customer relationships through frequent in-person visits at their locations. In your new role you will:
Become a trusted advisor to high-reliability hardware designers by leveraging Infineon devices to solve their technical challenges
Develop strong system-level knowledge of Aerospace & Defense programs in order to support your customer base and propose new product ideas for Infineon’s HiRel roadmap
Understand customer roadmaps, technology, R&D investments, and future needs
Assist Technical Marketing in the support of customers application needs and definition of new products and derivatives
Understand competitive landscapes at customers and develop strategies to win
Partner with sales to expand and grow revenue within our focused Aerospace, Defense, and High Reliability Markets
Work closely with customers to architect system solutions that incorporate Infineon’s growing HiRel portfolio of Si/GaN/SiC power discretes, power multi-chip modules, memory, and Si/GaN power ICs.
Mentor new college graduates and junior FAEs
You are best equipped for this task if you have:
Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Demonstrated success in semiconductor solution selling and/or design (5+ years as a FAE, applications engineer, or power HW designer)
Deep understanding of DC-DC, power management, and motor control applications
The ability to build positive relationships with customers as well as internally across the sales and marketing organization
Experience with Space (radiation hardened) and/or Defense semiconductors
Strong communication skills
The ability to prioritize and delegate customer technical questions based on ROI
