Senior Data Engineer
Currently working with a well-known energy company based in Houston who specialize in the development and operation of midstream assets, looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and deploy innovative data and analytical solutions that will drive our business forward.
Responsibilities:
Recommend, oversee, and integrate innovative data management technologies, data modeling methods, relational data structures, and change data capture techniques.
Identify and resolve performance issues by optimizing queries and fine-tuning database or data processing configurations.
Work closely with data scientists and developers to supply the data needed for custom applications, visualizations, and analytical models.
Leverage technologies such as Qlik, OpenText, SAP Datasphere, and Azure cloud services to support custom applications and business intelligence initiatives.
Use programming languages like Java or Python to automate processes and integrate APIs.
Develop and implement data architecture and strategies to ensure efficient storage and retrieval of both structured and unstructured data.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years' experience working as a Data Engineer
Extensive expertise in Azure cloud services, relational database design principles, data warehousing, and performance optimization.
Strong analytical skills for handling both structured and unstructured data.
Proficiency in T-SQL, ADF Pipelines, SSIS packages, migrating on-premises processes, database design, data modeling, and data warehousing.
Experience in setting up Azure DevOps integration with cloud services and establishing CI/CD processes.
In-depth understanding of performance analysis and tuning to ensure optimal database performance.
Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with developers to support requirements gathering.
Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
The client is unable to offer sponsorship of employment for this role, and operate a hybrid working policy with 3 days a week in the office in Houston.
Salaries for this opportunity vary on experience, but can consider candidate in the range of $120,00 to $170,000 + bonus + benefits.
