The Senior Corporate Accountant will own corporate-level entries and consolidation. This position will serve as the subject matter expert in technical accounting research, ensuring accurate accounting and reporting for the organization. It is pivotal in developing and enhancing standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate corporate accounting and consolidated reporting for the organization.
• Lead in the timely and accurate completion of monthly financial close activities, journal entry preparation, financial analysis, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Develop, manage, and provide guidance on standard operating procedures for accurate accounting and reporting.
• Perform monthly P&L reviews, identify, and correct misstatements, and communicate root cause/remediation as needed.
• Prepare and support tax filings and audit requests.
• Learn, prepare, and support accounting activities in multiple general ledger systems for various locations.
• Establish professional relationships and collaborate cross-functionally with teams including, but not limited to, FP&A, Plant Managers, Manufacturing Engineers, Product Management, and external auditors.
• Effectively communicate complex ideas across all organizational levels, both verbally and in writing.
• Manage tight deadlines, independently organizing and prioritizing work.
• Demonstrate proven analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Competencies:

• Demonstrate the ability to independently conduct technical accounting research and possess a comprehensive understanding of US GAAP to provide guidance as required.
• Ability to discover, own, and drive critical issues to resolution, a sense of urgency and tenacity is required.
• Ability to carefully examine current processes and provide recommendations as needed or create new processes to ensure accurate and complete financial results.
• Highly analytical and curious with strong attention to detail.

• Must be a self-starter, flexible, and able to work on time-sensitive projects without daily supervision.
• Ability to interact with all levels of management in various departments throughout the company.
• Willingness to take on and assist with new and varied projects as they arise.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX or Dynamics 365 is a strong plus.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

Experience

• Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
• Experience with financial reporting and consolidation processes.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing or similar industry is a plus.

Certifications/Designations

• Active CPA license preferred
