Senior Accountant - Apartments ($93,600.00 - $112,700.00) | On-site

Position Summary:

Responsible for applying consistent accounting principles and procedures to record and analyze financial information, maintain the integrity of the financial records, provide transparent and accurate financial information to Sr. Management, prepare accurate and timely financial reports, and ensure adherence to appropriate accounting control procedures. Collaborate with external teams such as Community Management, Risk Management and Maintenance.

Job Duties:

• Prepare monthly review of financials to assess accuracy/completeness and provide variance analysis
• Book journal entries including insurance premiums & reserves entries, recoveries, property damage losses
• Prepare monthly reports including insurance reserve & losses schedules, recovery & uncollectible report
• Review property claims for appropriate accounting treatment
• Assist with review of assigned property portfolio financial statements and other month end close tasks including GL review, accrual analysis, T-code review
• Prepare monthly/quarterly balance sheet reconciliation of asset and liability accounts
• Prepare data for actuarial study
• Leverage technology to improve current processes
• Responsible for timely and accurate ad-hoc reports as needed
• Assist with audit requests as needed
• Perform other related duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

• BA or BS in Accounting
• 5+ years accounting experience, preferably in Real Estate Management
• CPA or MBA
• Experience with SAP & SAP Analysis preferred
• Strong organizational skills; problem-solving skills; detail-oriented; self-motivated; ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and experience in report writing
• Ability to effectively communicate in a fast-paced, collaborative environment across the organization

Compensation:

• Base Pay Range: $93,600.00 - $112,700.00
