SAP Finance Control Consultant

Hunter Hamilton is partnered with a Manufacturing company in the Phoenix Area who is looking for an SAP Finance Control Consultant to join their team. This person will be responsible for supporting SAP FICO functions, Finance and Accounting activities and IT business systems.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Configure and Support SAP FICO Modules: Manage and maintain SAP FICO functionalities including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), Fixed Assets, Cost Center Accounting, and Internal Orders. Additionally, work with SAP Report Painter and SAP Report Writer.
  • Leverage SAP ERP/BI Systems: Use SAP ERP and Business Intelligence systems to meet business needs, address issues, and support IT business system analysts and the development team.
  • Finance and Accounting Support: Assist with finance and accounting activities for month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Perform unit testing and engage in functional integration testing to ensure that new system enhancements do not disrupt existing features.
  • Operational Objectives: Establish operational goals by examining business functions, collecting information, and assessing output requirements and formats.
  • System Improvements: Analyze current practices to identify areas for improvement and design modifications for system enhancements.
  • Documentation and Procedures: Create and update system protocols by documenting procedures and maintaining user documentation.
  • User Support and Training: Provide support and training to users by developing and maintaining user guides and documentation.
  • Production Support: Address critical production issues outside of regular working hours.


Education and Skills Required:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems or finance, and at least 5 years of experience in SAP FICO functional and configuration support, as well as SAP Business Intelligence (BI) systems.
  • SAP Experience: Experience with SAP FICO ECC or SAP S/4 HANA, including participation in SAP ECC to S/4 HANA conversion projects.
  • Team Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment to support other SAP modules like Sales & Distribution (SD), Materials and Warehouse Management (MM/WM), Production Planning (PP), or HR/Payroll.
  • Requirement Gathering and Analysis: Expertise in gathering and analyzing business requirements, collaborating with business users, IT system analysts, and development teams.
  • Documentation Skills: Proficient in creating specification documents, end-user training materials, procedures, and reports.
  • Communication Skills: Experienced in software and process documentation and effective written communication.
  • Industry Experience: Background in the semiconductor manufacturing industry.
  • Work Ethic: Strong commitment to professional integrity and performance.
