Safety Supervisor

Job Title: Safety Manager

Job Type: Direct Hire/Permanent

Summary:

This full-time role is responsible for managing the safety and health requirements on all active electrical utility construction projects. The Safety Manager will oversee all aspects of construction safety related to project commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pre-job safety meetings with subcontractors
• Site safety orientations
• Site walkthroughs and inspections with focus on hazard recognition, resolution, and OSHA compliance
• Jobsite OSHA recordkeeping
• Incident/injury investigation and recordkeeping
• Ensures daily administration of safety rules, Federal and State OSHA Compliance and enforcement, policies and procedures, and other regulations
• Works closely with Corporate Safety Director regarding corporate programs and Safety

Education/Qualifications:

• Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related fields and 2+ years construction safety experience with an emphasis on T&D
• Experience with Minimum Approach Distances, PPE requirements, fall protection, scaffolding, confined space
• OSHA 30-hour, 40-hour HAZWOPER, and other Transmission and Distribution safety related trainings
• CPR and First Aid Training
• Strong Organizational Skills
• Able to commute to Bangor, ME offices on a daily basis- some daily travel across the region
• Able to work in the United States without visa transfer or sponsorship
