Safety Supervisor - $18.50/HR

Job Summary: To ensure the safety of our employees and our guests, the part-time Safety Supervisor will assist the Safety Manager as required to administer and enforce Six Flags Great America's safety and health policies and regulations. Position will coordinate the Safety department's Seasonal Safety Supervisor park support and safety inspection activity, and is tasked to assist in safety department operations, assuring compliance with all company and regulatory standards.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Support overall park operations to meet village, state and federal safety and health laws and codes compliance specifically OSHA, EPA, and NFPA standards.

Act as the Safety Department liaison to local hospitals/clinics, park department's supervisory staff, park safety committees and outside contractors and lessees.

Assist in development/administration of employee safety and health procedures and training programs.

Conduct incident/accident investigations and ensure corrective action is completed

Ensure inspections of facilities and equipment are conducted per Six Flags Safety and Health Policy.

Assist the Safety Manager and Safety Supervisor with First Aid station operation ensuring department scheduling, operations supplies procurement, drug/alcohol screening coordination and department records retention

Strong ability to work independently and communicate effectively to both direct management and coworkers

Conduct thorough briefings to upper management teams of the park

Skills And Qualifications

21+ years old

CPR/First Aid Certified, Emergency Medical Technician Certification desirable

2 or more years of supervisory experience

Educational Curriculum/Knowledge of practical safety/health principles including OSHA, EPA, NFPA and applicable general safety compliance standards.

Ability to work varied shifts.

Other Functions: All other duties assigned or necessary to support the park as a whole.
