The Manager of Safety will lead the organization’s safety and health program, including OSHA compliance, site safety audits, and safety training. Essential Duties And Tasks

• Provides leadership and strategic direction to drive a safety culture based on continuous
• Works with the Risk Management Administration Manager to insure accurate reporting of information to workers’ compensation, general liability, commercial auto and property claims.
• Maintains safety standards and initiatives that improve performance, reduce risk, mitigate incident frequency and severity, and meet regulatory compliance requirements.
• Designs, implements, and continuously improves agency-wide health & safety strategy, policies, and programs consistent with industry best practices, KAR, NFPA 101, and OSHA regulations.
• Conducts and coordinates on-site safety audits to assure compliance and suggest improvements in site safety programs.
• Reviews all incident reports and coordinates or conducts investigations of accidents as
• Provide OSHA 10- or 30-hour training to retail managers on an annual
• Is a champion of safety organization-wide, proposes and implement changes and develops a healthy and safe work environment for all employees.

Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a safety-related field
• Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 501 and 511 certification preferred.
• Active OSHA “Authorized General Industry Trainer Card” preferred.
• A minimum of eight (8) years of worker’s compensation and/or safety
• Must have proficient verbal and written communication skills, exhibit a high degree of tact, diplomacy, and ability to influence.
• Must possess versatility, discretion, and good interpersonal skills with ability to work with a variety of diverse people.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work, proof of insurance, a valid driver’s license in the state of residence, and an acceptable driving record.
  
  

Physical Demands

• This job may have physical requirements that is considered sedentary to medium work. Sedentary work involves sitting for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity and occasional lifting up to 10 pounds. Medium work involves long periods of standing, recurring bending/crouching/reaching/stooping; and often lifting up to 30 pounds and occasional lifting to 50
