Enhabit is excited to announce we are OPENING a NEW Hospice Location that will serve patients and their loved ones in Rocky Hill, CT. Enhabit Hospice is now hiring a RN Clinical Hospice Branch Director.
The Hospice Director of Nursing is a Registered Nurse who manages all aspects of terminal care for our hospice patients and leads our coordinated team of hospice experts.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to execute an effective, supportive, sensitive approach in response to needs of the employees, the patients and their families is required. Expertise in pain and symptom management is required.
Responsibilities Include
Hospice Experience Preferred
Must Be a Registered Nurse (RN) With An Active License To Practice In This State, And Have One Of The Following
three years full time clinical experience in nursing, with at least one year in a home health or community health program that includes care of the sick at home;
or 3) a registered nurse who has been continuously employed in the position of supervisor of clinical services in a home health in this state since January 1, 1979;
or 4) a diploma in nursing or an associate degree in nursing and a minimum of three years of full time or full time equivalent clinical experience in nursing within the past five years, with at least one year in a home health or community health program that includes care of the sick at home, and evidence of certification by the American Nurses' Association as a community health nurse or completion of at least six credits received within two years in community health nursing theory or six credits in health care management from an accredited college or university program or school of nursing.

Responsibilities Include
- Supervises the staff and the day-to-day office and clinical operations, manages the documentation requirements, service coordination and the case management.
- Plans the delivery, coordination, and the interdisciplinary team interventions for the Branch Hospice agency. Responsible for the assignment of appropriate staff members to patients/families, and will be acting team staff nurse when necessary.
- Participate in community awareness and education programs
Hospice Experience Preferred

- masters degree from a program approved by the National League for Nursing or the American Public Health Association with a minimum of one year full time clinical experience in a home health or related community health program that includes care of the sick at home;
three years full time clinical experience in nursing, with at least one year in a home health or community health program that includes care of the sick at home;
or 3) a registered nurse who has been continuously employed in the position of supervisor of clinical services in a home health in this state since January 1, 1979;
or 4) a diploma in nursing or an associate degree in nursing and a minimum of three years of full time or full time equivalent clinical experience in nursing within the past five years, with at least one year in a home health or community health program that includes care of the sick at home, and evidence of certification by the American Nurses' Association as a community health nurse or completion of at least six credits received within two years in community health nursing theory or six credits in health care management from an accredited college or university program or school of nursing.
- Must possess a valid state driver license
- Must maintain automobile liability insurance as required by law
- Must maintain dependable transportation in good working condition
- Must be able to safely drive an automobile in all types of weather conditions
- Must possess CPR certification for the healthcare provider
