The Front of House Manager is responsible for overseeing all front-of-house operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and customer-centric service. This role requires a seasoned professional with a background in managing high-volume chain casual restaurants. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a passion for hospitality, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Team Management: Supervise, train, and motivate front-of-house staff, including hosts, servers, and bartenders, to deliver exceptional service.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure all front-of-house operations run smoothly, including dining room, bar, and event spaces, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organization, and service.
- Customer Experience: Monitor and enhance the guest experience, addressing any concerns or complaints promptly and effectively to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Staff Scheduling: Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours and special events, while optimizing labor costs.
- Training and Development: Implement training programs for new hires and ongoing development for existing staff to improve skills and service standards.
- Inventory and Supplies Management: Oversee the ordering, receiving, and inventory of front-of-house supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing waste.
- Financial Performance: Assist in budget management, monitor financial performance, and work with management to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, maintaining a safe environment for both staff and guests.
- Event Coordination: Assist in planning and executing special events and promotions to drive guest engagement and increase sales.
- Communication: Foster clear and effective communication between front-of-house and back-of-house teams to ensure a cohesive operation.
- Minimum of 2 years of management experience in a high-volume chain casual restaurant.
- Proven track record of managing and developing a large team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient in restaurant management software and point-of-sale systems.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost control.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred but not required.
