We are currently hiring for multiple positions in both our Molecular Biology/Microbiology group and our Chemistry/Biochemistry group.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform various microbiological techniques including culturing, streaking and membrane filtration
DNA and RNA extraction from various samples types (food, water, sponges, etc.) for downstream PCR analysis
Sample preparation for microbiological analysis and analyte extraction for chemical/biochemical analysis
Set-up and run chemistry assays to detect contaminant compounds and determine levels of various target molecules
Identify various micro-organisms through the use of selective media, chromogenic indicators, and morphology
Opportunity to work in several independent research groups
Collection and analysis of experiment data
Literature research and troubleshooting
Media/Reagent Preparation and QC
Housekeeping chores such as glassware washing and autoclaving
Qualifications:
Minimum of a BS in biological sciences, chemistry or related disciplines
1+ years of relevant laboratory experience including coursework
Industry lab experience is a plus
Must have working knowledge of aseptic techniques and laboratory skills
Excellent organization skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to work well both within a team as well as independently with minimal supervision
