Research and Development Manager, Coatings

Our Client is a leading supplier of specialty concrete treatments, with an emphasis on materials for highway construction, new commercial and residential construction, restoration and repair of existing structures, materials for the marine environment, and industrial maintenance.

Our Client's list of approved materials for heavy highway construction throughout the United States continues to grow with forty states now approving our product line.

You MUST have at least 3 years of experience in one of the following areas of Chemistry:

1. Epoxy Adhesives or Coatings - 1c & 2c systems.
2. Cementitious Mortars & Grouts - single & multi-component systems.
3. Concrete Curing & Sealing agents.

Education and Skills

1. B.S. Chemistry with emphasis on inorganic chemistry a plus; chemical engineering or materials science.
2. Experience formulating cementitious mortars & grouts.
3. Specific knowledge of how various cementitious products are used and the properties they are required to have for Road & Highway repair.
4. Must have prior knowledge of latex modified repair mortars, non-shrink grouts, and general cementitious products.
5. Development of new products, and improvement of existing products including grouts, mortars, curing and sealing compounds.
6. Ability to draft technical reports summarizing research findings related to product development, raw material evaluation, and quality issues.
7. Knowledge of admixtures and mineral additives to give required properties to cementitious products such as plasticizers, rheology modifiers, shrink reducers, set accelerators and retarders, etc.
8. Assist with writing TDS and SDS documents.
