TOP is hiring a Regional Director, West Region to lead the development of renewable energy projects across the U.S. The Regional Director position will identify new project opportunities and advance them through the development process, including, but not limited to, site identification, lease negotiation, permitting, resource assessment, transmission interconnection process management and community engagement. The Regional Director will lead and coordinate key aspects of the business deal such as financial feasibility analysis, engineering/design, project legal review and financial negotiations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage wind, solar and storage projects within the ERCOT, SPP, MISO and WECC markets
Lead project development activities in early, mid, and/or late stages
Identify development prospects, including market assessments, fatal flaw identification and initial site reconnaissance
Secure site control for development prospects, including negotiating leases, easements and other agreements with landowners
Take a lead role in obtaining certain local, state and/or federal permits
Successfully translates company goals into effective, viable and valuable development strategies and positions
Represent TOP with customers, landowners, state and local officials and other stakeholders.
Initiate and manage generation interconnection activities
Oversee project design
Manage tasks according to budgets and schedules, including coordinating internal and external technical support.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree – Masters Degree in Engineering or Business preferred
10+ years’ experience in energy project development, transmission, or power project engineering
Strong organizational, networking, leadership, time management, and accounting skills.
Strong management and interpersonal skills to effectively lead regionalized development efforts and cross-functional teams
Strong public speaking and personal skills
Ability to write effective, concise reports
Valid drivers license and ability to travel to project sites
