Recovery Specialist (Thursday-Monday 7am-3pm)

CMHA is looking to hire a Recovery Specialist for our Young Adult Assertive Community Treatment Team. This position will be located in New Britain.

Position Summary: The Recovery Specialist serves as case manager to support, teach, advocate, and empower clients with mental health, medical and Substance Use needs. This includes developing person-centered recovery goals to live, learn, socialize, work and maintain health and wellness in the community.

  • Provides advocacy, support and guidance with contacting external organizations (Social Security, DSS, DCF, DMHAS, etc).
  • Works with clients to teach life skills necessary to live independently in the community. This includes assisting with finances and entitlements, supporting the development of activities of daily living, nutrition, housing maintenance and repair, and prompting to encourage task completion.
  • Collaborates and integrates with other CMHA teams to ensure all services provided to client are communicated with clients whole treatment team
  • Assures timely documentation is maintained in accordance with CMHA policies and procedures, including but not limited to progress notes, treatment plans, authorizations, program orientation, and consent to treat, activity logs, and monthly targeted case management notes.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in a mental health related field preferred or equivalent experience
  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Beginner to intermediate experience with Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook.
  • Experience in an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
  • Successful experience working in Case Management or related field with a solid understanding of Mental Health conditions, preferably a minimum of one year

Preferred Qualifications

  • Organizational ability to multi task while ensuring client’s basic needs are met.
  • Interpersonal ability to establish trusting relationships with clients and natural supports.

COMPENSATION RANGE: $20.62 per hour
