Quality Engineer

First Brands Group is hiring a Quality Engineer to work in Greenville OH.

The Quality Engineer:

Responsible for driving external and internal quality improvements. The Quality Engineer will be required to utilize the 8D and Six Sigma problem solving methodology to achieve the Quality improvements. In this position, the Quality Engineer will be responsible for evaluating customer and internal rejects, working with Operations and Engineering teams to drive root cause analysis, and assuring implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions.

Principal activities

• Maintain & improve Quality Systems through Internal audits & compliance audits.
• Drive root cause analysis (8Ds, CAR) for internal and external rejects
• Evaluate production floor quality problems
• Oversee containment activities and Quality Alerts on the Production Floor
• Organize disposition of Non-Conforming Goods on the Production Floor
• Create and review Control Plans, PFMEAs, 8Ds, CARs, APQP Documentation, PPAPs
• Support the quality department to verify the accurate and timely calibration of measuring gages and equipment in the plant
• Support compliance of Lab testing according to specifications
• Identify and implement improvement in overall production quality.
• All other assignments as assigned by Quality Manager
• Support development, deployment and maintenance of the plant's quality and continuous improvement systems.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Related Technical field or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience in Quality a plus but not required
• Experience in 8D, CAR (Corrective Action Reports) and Six Sigma Problem Solving
• Knowledge of ISO9001/TS16949 Quality System & Standards
• ISO9001/TS1694 Internal Auditor Certification a plus but not required Familiar with GD&T and Product Drawing Dimensioning (ANSI Y14.5M-1994)
• Experience in development of PFMEAs, Control Plans, and APQP Documentation
• Ability to communicate concisely at all levels inside and outside the company
