Position Overview: The Newlink Communications Tourism Practice is seeking an exceptional Bilingual Public Relations Manager to join our dynamic international team. As a Bilingual (English and Spanish) Public Relations Manager, you will play a crucial role in our PR team, managing a variety of client accounts, mentoring junior team members, and driving successful PR campaigns.
Responsibilities:
Mentor and lead junior team members, encouraging professional development and sharing industry knowledge.
Act as the main point of contact for clients, overseeing day-to-day activities, providing strategic counsel, and leading regular PR interactions.
Execute and manage PR initiatives, including plans, press trips, events, and media appointments.
Write persuasive copy for pitches, releases, case studies, and reports.
Spearhead PR campaigns, ensuring annual objectives are met, and developing client-specific media strategies.
Cultivate relationships with media, freelancers, and influencers; identify industry trends for strategic pitches.
Participate in new business proposals, brainstorming sessions, and staff meetings.
Requirements:
5+ years of PR agency experience with travel, tourism, and/or hospitality clients.
Fluent proficiency in both spoken and written English and Spanish, demonstrating bilingual capabilities.
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
Experience with traditional and new media; familiarity with influencers and digital campaigns is a plus.
Proven experience in pitching stories to top-tier consumer and trade media outlets.
Comfortable leading client calls and serving as the primary day-to-day client contact.
Creative thinker with experience in creative partnerships and programming.
Strong project management and client relationship skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; exceptional in leading clients, partners, and employees with a natural extroverted and leadership personality.
Knowledge of the travel industry from B2B and B2C standpoints is highly desired.
Experience in delegating and managing junior team members.
Familiarity with industry tools/platforms.
