What You'll Do

Advanced Network Solutions (ANS) is looking for a Program Manager that will lead internal development, capital, and contract programs; across a spectrum of emerging technologies such as 5G, free space optics, software defined networking, and tactical communications. As an ANS PM, you will epitomize PM excellence, you will digest new technology quickly, work with teams to generate customer solutions, gain consensus on building solutions to new challenges, engage with multiple customer groups, drive execution in a fast paced and exciting environment, and ensure customer’s success.

The day-to-day

• Overall responsibility for program execution through leadership, program scheduling, financial reporting and budgeting, managing contract deliverables while identifying and mitigating risks, and communicating with program customers
• Work with business area management in assessing market/product offerings and opportunities, representing overarching PM viewpoint of the ability of the business area to execute to derived cost/schedule market requirements
• Lead go/no management decisions regarding new products/projects
• Display proactive and flexible project-oriented dedication, with ability to both delegate to engineering PMs as well as drive down into detail, assisting in areas of weakness
• Lead the performance measurement and improvement of our customer’s experience on the Viasat Government Segment
• Serve as the primary interface to the customer(s) representing the entire program team and Viasat as a whole
• Collaborate with team members across the organization to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives
• Manage vendor relationships and procurements for equipment and services related to communications and networking programs
• Analyze program data and metrics to identify trends, optimize performance, and inform future program decisions
• Represent the company at industry events and conferences, building relationships and staying abreast of current trends and markets
• Apply a collaborative/consultative working and leadership style, relying on common sense and personal competence for persuasion and consensus building
  
  
  

What You'll Need

• Minimum 7 years of experience in project / program management, with a strong track record of success in leading sophisticated technical projects
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• Experience developing network technologies
• Experience with Agile development framework and practices
• Management of co-located team over diverse geographical locations
• Proven ability to lead proposal efforts and participate in ongoing business development
• Demonstrated ability of full understanding of Profit/Loss Concepts
• Experience handling different contract types and risk management practices
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%
• Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Field
• US Citizenship
• Onsite position in Carlsbad office

Salary range

$129,000.00 - $224,300.00 / annually
