Job Responsibilities

Under general supervision of the SC National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Academy Deputy Director. Must maintain the National Guard Bureau training policy and regulations. Responsible for training new employees, current employees, and cadets. Manage community service projects for the cadets for each cycle. Maintain a detailed electronic and hardcopy records for each employee’s training. Inform employees of needed training. Coordinate training with Director, Deputy Director, and Commandant. Schedule trainings throughout the cycle and during cycle break. Produce training materials for new employees and keep up with policy and procedural changes of the agency and the academy. Plan, develop, implement, and monitor the Mission, Vision, Goals and Objectives of the SC Youth ChalleNGe Academy. Prepare and present reports on training on a monthly basis. Assist with short and long term strategic planning. Prepares letters, reports and other documents as necessary. Must be able to communicate effectively with the public, and colleagues providing excellent customer service skills to establish effective working relationships, multitask, meet deadlines and pay strong attention detail. Must have the ability to effectively plan and organize work activities, and prioritize task to meet deadlines and goals of the program. Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

A high school diploma, 2 years of training experience, administrative experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 3 years of training experience and experience working with at-risk youth.

Additional Comments

Knowledge of agency policies, procedures, regulations and program services. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to communicate effectively, written and orally. Specific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adapting to changing work priorities; communicating with diverse groups; dealing with distraught or hostile individuals, maintaining confidentiality; working as part of a team; and working with detailed information/data.
