Position Summary:

Professional Development is part of the Firm’s Human Capital Management Group and is responsible for developing and implementing training and professional development opportunities firm-wide both for attorneys and business services professionals. The PD team works closely with other Firm departments including Human Resources, Attorney Resources, Practice Groups, HRIS and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging. The Professional Development Coordinator plays an integral role in supporting the learning, development, onboarding, and training curriculum to foster an environment of learning, leadership development, and employee excellence. The Professional Development Coordinator will report directly to the Managers of Professional Development and will join a dynamic team and interact regularly with attorneys, directors, managers, and other business services personnel across multiple departments and locations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates all internal attorney and business services education programs including communicating with presenters, serving as a liaison for multiple offices, sending invitations, tracking RSVPs, handling room logistics and catering, and reproducing and distributing program materials
  • Uses firm tracking software to track deliverables for PD sponsored programs
  • Assist with administrative tasks for in-house teleconferences and webcasts offered by outside providers including sending invitations, tracking RSVPs, handling room logistics, reproducing and distributing program materials
  • Monitor Above the Law and other popular sites for relevant Firm news
  • Supports with implementing and updating the Firm’s learning management system
  • Support Manager of PD in maintaining up-to-date mentor program data
  • Work on special projects related to firm professional development activities
  • Schedules PD team meetings and takes notes from each session
  • Coordinates the annual performance evaluation and review process for attorneys and business services
  • Assist Professional Development Director and Managers in creating education curricula for the business services population; assist subject matter experts with the development and appropriate delivery methods for course content
  • Maintain attorney CLE records in Micron, including creating accounts for new attorneys and deactivating departing attorney accounts. Prepare departure CLE records for departing attorneys
  • Administer and update the PD Department’s online activities (both internally and on social media, as appropriate) to ensure they remain current, including the maintenance of course materials/videos in Micron CE Manager.
  • Monitor NY CLE compliance and attorney registration status for attorneys including fielding CLE questions, identifying internal and external CLE opportunities, completing CLE extensions, and answering compliance questions
  • Maintain attorney roster with the Practicing Law Institute (“PLI”)
  • Update the firm-wide calendar with professional development events
  • Learn and stay abreast of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to meet the educational needs of the various functions/jobs within the firm
  • Other responsibilities as assigned


Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Experience: 3 years of related administrative/coordinator experience working in Training and Development function within a professional setting. Prior work experience in Financial Services, Professional Services, or a Law Firm environment preferred but not required.

Skills and Abilities: Must be detail oriented and produce work product with a high degree of accuracy. Must exhibit strong written and oral communication skills. Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to act in a professional manner at all times. Exhibits strong organizational skills and demonstrates the ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments effectively. Ability to work effectively under pressure with interruptions and tight deadlines. Ability to use independent judgment, problem solve, take initiative, and follow through. Ability to get work done through others. Ability to work positively with a wide variety of audiences and personality types, including partners, attorneys, directors, managers, supervisors, and administrative staff. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, internet research, and database skills required. Knowledge of learning management systems, Micron CE Manager, and viEval a plus.

The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

New York Salary Range

$70,000 — $85,000 USD
