Job Summary:

My client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production Engineer to join their New York office. The Production Engineer is both a software developer and support engineer responsible for supporting and maintaining low-latency infrastructure, developing tools, data solutions, and system integrations, and interacting with development and operation teams.

Key Responsibilities:

System Monitoring & Support:

• Monitor the health and performance of low-latency trading systems.
• Respond promptly to system alerts and incidents to minimize downtime.
• Provide Level 2 and 3 support for trading platforms, applications, and infrastructure.

Incident & Problem Management:

• Investigate and diagnose technical issues in trading systems.
• Collaborate with developers and infrastructure teams to resolve issues.
• Document incidents and solutions for future reference.
• Development & Integration:
• Develop tools and data solutions to enhance system performance and reliability.
• Implement system integrations to streamline operations.
• Assist in the deployment of trading applications and system updates.
• Ensure configurations adhere to best practices and industry standards.
• Maintain and update system documentation and configuration records.
• Collaboration & Communication:
• Work closely with traders, developers, and other IT support teams.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide updates.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar support role within the financial services industry.
• Proven experience with low-latency trading systems and market data feeds

Technical Skills:

• Operating Systems: Unix/Linux, Bash, Tooling, Vim/Emacs.
• Networking: TCP/IP, latency and troubleshooting, packet capture.
• Database: Experience with any of MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MSSQL.
• Scripting/Programming: Proficiency in Bash and Python.
• Protocols: FIX, REST API, HTTP, WebSocket, SSH, SSL.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in English.
