Position Summary:
The Production Engineer, part of the OceanX Media Pillar, will be responsible for overseeing, optimizing, and maintaining OceanX's post-production infrastructure across our land and sea production offices in New York City, Singapore and onboard our research vessel R/V OceanXplorer. OceanX media captures a large quantity of high-quality underwater and topside media on our missions and this role will be in charge of developing and maintaining our infrastructure and workflows to effectively organize, store, backup, and access this media for all kinds of creative, documentary, new media and scientific needs. Our media pillar interacts and supports all kinds of internal and external partners, this role will manage the day-to-day needs by fulfilling media asset requests, and developing self-service options based on our asset library.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Routine maintenance/health check of OceanX's production technology infrastructure and asset storage (at NYC production office, Singapore production office and onboard R/V OceanXplorer)
Develop proactive solutions derived from routine maintenance on SNS EVO servers and LTO
Develop and execute a plan to optimize OceanX's current infrastructure, and future proof it's needs based on overall Media and Organizational long-term goals
Manage the ever-growing footage archive, including LTO backups and mezz file management in CatDV
Receive, Respond and Fulfill media asset requests from internal OceanX stakeholders (Marketing, Partnerships, Education,and Science)
Receive, Respond and Fulfill media asset requests from External stakeholders (Scientific Partners, Footage Licensing Requests)
Develop new workflows to make media asset request more turnkey for internal requests
Stay current and seek out new technology solutions that can optimize performance, lighten workload, and reduce costs
Oversee, catalog and future-proof OceanX's physical production media kit inventory
4+ years of experience in production engineering, video production, Information Technology, or in a scientific data management role
Demonstrated project management and analytical capabilities and experience
Familiarity with LTO tape management and workflows – OceanX's current archive system is based on LTO tapes
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite – OceanX media produces its content using Adobe Creative Suite
Familiarity with CatDV or similar Media Asset Management Solution – OceanX's current media asset management solution is CatDV
Ability to effectively communicate with senior leadership, staff, and external parties
Proficient/Advanced MS Office Suite (excel, word, ppt), Monday.com
Bachelor's degree

Compensation:
Compensation for the role includes a competitive salary in the range from $95,000 - $135,000 (inclusive of a merit-based bonus, dependent on years of experience, level of education obtained, as well as applicable skillset), potentially a success-driven incentive payment and an excellent benefits package, including a comprehensive employer paid medical plan and generous employer match for 401k.
