Position Summary:

As a Production Engineer at our Fort Madison Site, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our manufacturing equipment to meet the resin production demand. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will collaborate closely with operations and leadership to support daily production needs while fostering a robust safety culture within the facility.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide daily support to troubleshoot production problems and implement timely solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver production summary reports, identifying and implementing improvement opportunities to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Utilize root cause problem-solving techniques to identify and address operational challenges, driving ongoing improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Spearhead continuous improvement activities across all departments, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Provide life cycle support for various processes and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
  • Support Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and other Process Safety Management (PSM) reviews to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate in the creation of work instructions, maintain critical spare parts inventory, and support production Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Lead and manage projects across various manufacturing operations, ensuring adherence to established deadlines and coordinating with purchasing, vendors, and contractors for seamless execution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success and effectiveness of the engineering team.


What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, or industrial engineering, or a minimum of seven years of relevant experience in a manufacturing support role.
  • Strong background in safety, with demonstrated experience in a chemical processing environment.
  • Knowledge of industrial pumps, valves, agitators, scrubbers, heat exchangers, condensers, filtration, fluid transfer, and other process related equipment.
  • Fundamental understanding of Process Safety Management in a High Hazard Process.
  • Proficiency in interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings or schematics.
  • Ability to approach problems from an operational perspective and deliver solutions that enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Proficient in root cause problem-solving techniques and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize and plan effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team while maintaining a respectful manner in a diverse work environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
