DEPARTMENT

The SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) Marketing & Solutions organization creates compelling positioning, messaging, and content to help buyer’s buy and sales sell. The team acts as buyer and market experts in the platform and technology space influencing and supporting solution innovations, marketing strategies, integrated demand programs, and external company perception.

Role Description

The platform market is growing and evolving rapidly as organizations rely on technology to fuel digital transformation, integrate SAP and third-party systems, and gain insights from data to enable applications that drive essential business processes and delight end users. In this role as Product Marketing for SAP Business Technology Platform, your primary focus is to be a market, audience, and subject matter expert in the platform & cloud infrastructure domain. Our opportunity is growing the enterprise application marketing through educating and engaging with the market on how we manage and deliver our SaaS applications.

You will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to understand the total addressable market (TAM), represent the vision to the market, play a key role in the development of the creation of our strategy. To achieve this, we need to tell great stories based on compelling positioning & messaging. This will result in driving product innovation and creating and executing business plans. We target key buyers and users including Developers, Enterprise Architects, and C-level IT executives. This is an exciting opportunity to be an essential contributor on the team driving growth for SAP’s next generation of cloud capabilities and work collaboratively across Marketing, Product, Sales, and Engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Market and Business Situation - Understand the market economics, whitespace and opportunities, and business objectives in target markets
  • Demand Generation Planning - Contribute to Integrated Marketing Management on program build through messaging, positioning, content, offers, and respective solution/industry expertise
  • Thought Leadership and Evangelism - Serve as a public voice to the market, and act as a solution evangelist
  • Product Innovation - Advocate for the customer and provide market insights to influence and collaborate with our development teams to drive product roadmaps and SAP’s use of technology innovations
  • Value Proposition - Create compelling and differentiated positioning, messaging, and personas for key buyer and technical user audiences
  • Develop Core Assets and Offers - Develop customer and partner facing assets and ensure respective rollout and availability to marketing program managers and digital execution teams
  • Customer Success – Help recruit and create compelling customer references and submissions for customer awards (SAP, industry, and analyst)
  • Influencer/Analyst Management – Lead the strategy/interaction with market stakeholders such as Analyst Relations, Public Relations, and other communication channels (i.e. social media) to deliver thought leader messages into the market

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a technology or engineering field, and B2B marketing
  • Ideal candidates should have 3-5 years of product marketing or product management experience in the B2B software industry
  • Ideal candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in content creation of strategic and customer facing assets.
  • Strong understanding and usage experience with platform technologies such as: BI/analytics, AI & automation solutions, integration software, application development tools, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS) and experience with applications from a vendor such as SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, Workday, or the equivalent
  • Analytical mind-set, and innovative thinker with strong communication and collaborative skills: verbal, written, and interpersonal
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and writing skills; able to coordinate and manage multiple projects and collaborate within and across virtual and diverse teams
  • Track record of building strong customer and/or partner relationships

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 101,300 - 210,100 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
