SUMMARY

Our global manufacturing client, based in North Carolina, is revolutionizing the furniture industry by creating innovative pieces tailored to modern office spaces. Specializing in furniture designed to enhance productivity and collaboration, they aim to elevate work environments with their unique chairs, tables, stools, and more. With an impressive annual revenue exceeding $15 million, the company is poised for continued growth and success. You will be performing product engineering activities and supporting the go to market of new products in the Furniture space. These activities will support tasks with respect to defining technical drawings/models, product validation, certification requirements and overall product technical specification. You will also be involved with the product BOM & engaging with initial vendors to deliver components for initial launch. Lastly, you will have the opportunity for hands on modeling/sampling via our in-house prototype lab.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Product Development

• Complete technical & engineering tasks for the development of products prototype & sample concepts
• Perform failure & risk assessments for new products
• Support product testing certification/validation
• Maintain and improve current product specifications

2. Initial Sourcing

• Generate drawings for components to be sourced
• Coordinate with purchasing to sample & quote components
• Assess & evaluate new components from vendors

3. NPI & GTM

• Support manufacturing readiness through proper hand-offs of product specs & materials

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 1-2 years of experience in product development
• Proficiency with Microsoft tools
• Proficiency with Google Office Tools
• Proficiency with SolidWorks
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
• Experience with launching a product a plus Experience with furniture development a plus
