Principal Electrical Engineer - Medical Device

Please see the below opportunity for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join a global medical device OEM in the Greater Boston MA area that generates well over $2B in annual revenue. This product engineering group focuses on electromechanical devices for peripheral vascular and coronary interventions. This technical leader will be working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external design partners leading sustaining/design deliverables for several different product lines. The client is looking for individuals with demonstrated experience mentoring and coaching other more junior engineers specifically in a medical device setting as a lead engineer. Other responsibilities include managing engineering requirements, evaluating existing product designs and providing constant improvements, planning and executing design/development of embedded systems/sub-system features on technical projects, providing expertise in the verification/testing to EMC and IEC 60601 safety standards and to the companies QMS. This is a hybrid position - 3 days onsite.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Masters preferred) in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Demonstrated experience in a Lead Engineering position - Principal or above.
• Medical Device electromechanical capital equipment experience is a must have - 60601-1-2 medical electronic equipment safety standards
• Familiarity working with external design partners
• Experience with hardware design for microprocessors
• Experience with PCB design schematics/layouts - 6 to 8 layers
