Return To Vendor, Co. (RTV) is a venture backed startup founded by a team of seasoned executives and entrepreneurs. We are working on a set of exciting new technologies based on true-circular fashion, polymers, innovative chemistries and processing technologies to address high-value problems in performance textiles and clothing.
We are seeking talented Research Chemists or Research Engineers to expand our R&D team at our Watertown lab. This is an opportunity to join our talented & productive team in a start-up environment with the ability to make a large impact on the outcome of the company.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work independently in a lab environment on applied research projects
Contribute new ideas to solve problems at the lab and at scale
Design, synthesize, characterize, and test new materials
Develop new methods for application testing (process simulation)
Communicate ideas and solutions in both internal and external presentations
Contribute to the patent portfolio of the company
Write technical reports and proposals
Travel occasionally to external sites and meetings
Prerequisites:
Must have the desire to work in a start-up environment, and to solve technical problems
BS or advanced degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or Materials Engineering
Demonstrated creativity and problem solving
Must have strong communication, technical writing, and presentation skills
Willingness to take initiative and follow-through, with good organizational skills and attention to detail
Must have a can-do attitude and be responsive in the fast pace of a start-up environment
Valid driver's license and U.S. work authorization
