Description
The material planner is responsible to secure the suppliers deliver according to the EDI (electronic data interchange) and to mitigate line impacts in case of any deviation
Core Responsibilities
Responsible to continuously follow and act on the different alarms from GILM
Responsible to investigate availability of spare parts, part substitution with engineering and support from other plants, to avoid line impact for the concerned part number(s). The material planner will support other plants on request in shortage situations
Notify the scheduling department of potential material shortages that would affect the production schedule
Inform/escalate deviations and risk for disturbances to responsible Supervisor
Escalate crisis or risk suppliers according to the escalation ladder
Responsible to act towards supplier based on information from Material Handling Production/IMC and offsite sequencing facilities in case of inventory inaccuracies
Responsible to act towards supplier based on input from the Supplier quality Plant Engineer to replenish bad material
Responsible to communicate with DCN Coordinator on delivery of phase-in/phase-out parts
Authority to decide on XTR (Extra transportation request) to a certain dollar figure, securing correct XTR information
Responsible to inform packaging engineering in case of deviations between MOQ and agreed packaging quantity
Responsible to communicate with PL Transport Operations to check ETA’s, to notify about carrier issues
Work on a daily basis with the supplier through Teams calls to secure correct SDP and to request the supplier for root cause analysis and actions when the target score of SDP is not met
Work in a pro-active mode with the suppliers by asking questions related to the logistic requirements & delivery manual. Issues can be further escalated internally when needed
Responsible for working with AP to resolve supplier payment issues
Responsible to perform RCA on request in case of production disturbance, impacting the MA@PU
Responsible to answer questions from the supplier(s) on EDI/forecast with support from supervisor and/or IT
Responsible to secure correct parameters in GILM (transport time) and notify the supervisor for updates if applicable
Participate in continuous improvement activities.
Provide correct information in the Emergency routine tool on request of SRM
Minimum Education And Experience
Associate degree in business/ supply chain/ related filed or 5 years related experience
High school diploma or GED required.
Two years related experience preferred
Ability to prioritize and plan the daily work
Ability to work in team or independently
Computer Skills (intermediate in Microsoft excel, work, access, teams)
Analytical skills including data trends investigations
Data analysis utilizing problem solving tools (kaizen, 5W, Fishbone, Root Cause)
