Position Summary

The Manager will oversee all aspects of Production, Supply Chain Management, (i.e., Scheduling / Planning), Procurement and other duties in regard to production operations and staff. The manager will be focused on developing production schedules, managing change, and allocating labor/capital resources among other responsibilities. This individual must be able to drive Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) in the production/assembly area and ensure all projects are delivered in a safe manner, at the highest quality standards, while maintaining budgetary guidelines and strict deadlines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the production process and ensure that production targets are met and coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of products. Monitor and control inventory levels to optimize production efficiency - Train and supervise production staff to ensure adherence to quality standards and safety protocols
  • Responsible for production activities in a Drug and Device manufacturing environment and implement solutions to optimize efficiency, increase safety levels, minimize costs and maintain high quality standards
  • Coordinate production team activities to meet the production goals (need by times and quantities) as decided by Brand Manager and the Sales and Marketing Manager
  • Provide effective team leadership during times of change and production ramp up
  • Incorporate private label production and schedules into production calendar without sacrificing the company’s own product lines and their schedules
  • Build a strong production team through exceptional servant leadership, while providing a clear vision and inspiring staff to achieve excellence
  • Demonstrate the ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches by leading and guiding
  • Proactively work with various departments within the company while incorporating best practices into the manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to effectively drive Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) across all manufacturing and assembly areas, ensuring all projects are delivered with the highest quality standards, while maintaining time and budget guidelines

Other Responsibilities

  • Adhere to FDA SOPs for all aspects of production by understanding and adhering to Quality Procedures, which is established by working closely with Quality Assurance personnel
  • Ensure that all production processes follow OHSA, CAL-OHSA, cGMP and other regulatory guidelines
  • Maintain accurate production records and reports
  • Open and truthful communications to all associates
  • Provide all necessary training and mentoring to production staff
  • Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the production process
  • Promote quality and a high level of workmanship

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus
  • This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, manufacturing, industrial or related engineering discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience whereby requisite knowledge, skills and abilities have been demonstrated
  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience in manufacturing operations in an FDA regulated Drug and Device manufacturing environment with a minimum of 8 years of management experience
  • Understanding of & familiarity with FDA, OHSA, CAL-OHSA and cGMP regulations/practices for manufacturing required
  • Computer skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 software and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (Navision) required
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, work independently, be detail-oriented and thorough
  • Knowledge of raw materials, manufacturing processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of pumps and turbo expander products
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, production methods and coordination of resources
  • Verbal communication skills: speaks clearly and persuasively to convey information effectively; actively listens to understand, asks questions as appropriate and responds well to questions
  • Written communication skills: writes clearly and informatively, providing reports, documentation, detailed instructions, or specifications to others
  • Analytical skills: identifies complex problems and reviews related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions or corrective actions; considers the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate solutions or alternatives; determines how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes; identifies measures or indicator of performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance
  • Organizational skills: Manages and completes duties and projects on time and within budget; plans, prioritizes, and organizes work to achieve production goals and objectives with excellent follow through and follow up on assigned duties and projects
  • Interpersonal skills: Builds positive team spirit by developing constructive and cooperative working relationships and interdepartmental group commitments to effectively influence the actions of others to achieve production goals and objectives

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Starting Salary $85,000 to $95,000 depending upon experience
