General Summary

The Personal Banker 2 is responsible for providing exceptional client service to our customers with enthusiasm, accuracy, and efficiency. The Personal Banker will seek to attract, expand, and retain clients by identifying products and services to enhance the client experience with the company. The position will have a thorough understanding of the clients transaction requirements and be able to effectively communicate options.

Essential Duties

  • Provide remarkable service to our clients every day to include following the defined Service Standards as determined by the Company.
  • Build relationships with clients, anticipate their needs and educate them on our product and service options that may enhance their relationship.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining a customer base by having a thorough knowledge of bank products and services and ascertaining the clients needs and goals and providing the appropriate solutions.
  • Opens new accounts up to and including accounts of a more intricate nature, such as business accounts, estate, or trust accounts. Is proficient in new accounts and legal documentation requirements. Maintain and updates all client accounts.
  • Analyzes existing or prospective client relationships for purposes of obtaining a thorough understanding of clients existing account usage and potential additional needs and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Discuss consumer loan products and options with clients. Accept loan applications; obtain necessary paperwork required for each loan type, and submit completed loan packages for review. Acquire a basic understanding of the Banks small business loan products and processes, and refer complex relationships to the Commercial Loan Officer as needed Accept and process Consumer Loan requests.
  • Answer client service inquiries and provides Notary Public services including Medallion Signature Guarantee.
  • Provide support to other Personal Bankers and Client Services Specialists.
  • Assists Management in ensuring the branch is opened and closed in accordance with policy.
  • Assist with completing monthly branch certifications.
  • Assist and serve as backup to your Manager.

Education And Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Requires 2 years prior experience in a financial institution performing teller activities and new accounts with a thorough understanding of branch banking operations.

  • Excellent customer service skills, attentiveness, information retention, tact and diplomacy in dealing with both clients and co-workers.
  • Commitment to build relationships through in-person customer interactions
  • Ability to problem solve and provide solutions to client issues.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented, high degree of accuracy.
  • Competence with computers, telephone, 10-key calculator and other office machinery.
  • Energetic, detail-oriented and ability to multitask effectively
