Job Description:

LHH is seeking a Payroll Manager for a nonprofit client in Koreatown. As a Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the full cycle payroll process. This role requires a meticulous and detail-oriented individual who can ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for over 500 employees. You will also be responsible for managing a small team of payroll staff, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, and continuously seeking ways to improve payroll operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the full cycle payroll process for 500+ employees, including processing bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Supervise and lead the payroll team, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Manage payroll-related audits and resolve any discrepancies or issues that arise.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll with other functions.
  • Implement and maintain payroll best practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Prepare and submit payroll reports and summaries to senior management.
  • Stay updated with changes in payroll laws and regulations and ensure the organization's compliance.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or in a similar supervisory role, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
  • Extensive experience managing payroll for 500+ employees.
  • In-depth knowledge of full cycle payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
