Payroll Manager

Job Summary

The Payroll Manager will oversee and supervise the organization’s payroll functions ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with US government regulations, support and maintain the company’s payroll HRIS applications and modules.

JOB DUTIES
  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Supervise payroll staff: Payroll Supervisor
  • Supports payroll HRIS modules
  • Supervise Payroll Supervisor
  • Other duties assigned
Education And/Or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • At least three to five years of Workday and/or ADP certified
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly and/or payroll certified desirable.
  • Three to five progressive years of payroll management and supervisor
  • One to three years of multi state HR knowledge

  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • US payroll laws & multi state payroll laws and application
  • Familiarity with human resource policies and procedures to ensure the HRIS meets organizational needs and goals.
  • Ability to keep information confidential.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Thorough understanding of all areas of information systems with a highly technical understanding of ADP and Workday.
