Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in admissions, recruiting, communications, marketing or other related field.
Ability to attend on and off campus recruiting events.
Valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the university by the university’s insurance carrier.
Ability to work nights and weekends when applicable.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
Previous experience in recruiting students for educational opportunities.
Experience with outreach in K-12 settings.
Knowledge of Google suite, email marketing software, web content management systems, design software and/or CRM software.
Experience with recruiting at healthcare facilities, high schools and or college fairs.
Position Purpose
Oakland University’s School of Nursing is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to coordinate (plan, attend, follow-up) student recruitment and outreach initiatives for the School of Nursing in an effort to increase enrollment.
Job Duties
Duties include but are not limited to:
Works to generate student leads interested in nursing programs through various in-person, phone, and online interactions, providing information on program benefits and admissions requirements.
Maintains effective communication with prospective students regarding degree programs.
Manages prospective students by maintaining extensive contacts, monitoring application progress from start to completion, identifying and resolving problems, and organizing and conducting student-related internal meetings.
Maintains an applicant management system to track new information about prospective students.
Qualifies prospective students through program enrollment requirements and admissions.
Assists Director of Enrollment and Outreach, Graduate/Undergraduate & Associate Dean and Director of Advising and Student Services in identifying market trends that could potentially affect recruiting strategies.
Represents the program through various presentations and attends activities such as college fairs and community meetings.
Coordinates and assists in creating internal and external communication for new students leads, prospective students, and admitted students through letters, articles, newsletter support, phone and email interactions.
Disseminates informational material to prospective students (i.e., admission and financial aid applications)
Collaborates with the Director of Enrollment and Outreach on marketing/ recruiting projects, recruiting proposals, creative initiatives and provides updates on required marketing/recruiting project(s).
