Painter - (Pasadena, Texas) - Austin Industrial (BAYSTAR)

Austin Industrial, Inc. - We seek an experienced Painter based in Pasadena, Texas.

This position requires a valid Driver's License and a TWIC Card.

Maintenance position working 4x10s plus occasional OT - No Per Diem.

Painter

Must be able to prepare wood and metal surfaces for painting, and paint equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other working areas using a spray gun, brush, and rollers. Other duties may be assigned.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Reads work orders and receives instructions verbally.
• Prepare the surface using methods appropriate to remove dirt, oil, and grease, removing old paint, smoothing cracks, and filling holes.
• Work at heights with no fear.
• May fill cavities and dents with putty to attain a smooth surface.
• Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce the desired color, according to specifications using a paddle or mechanical mixer.
• May erect scaffolding or set up a ladder to perform tasks above ground level.
• Apply paint to the surface using a spray gun, brush, and/or roller.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required For This Position

Education - no minimum education requirements.

Certification/License: a Valid Driver's License and a TWIC Card.

Experience - 4 years of Journeyman level experience.
