We are seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate Occupational Health Specialist (OHS) to support the health and well-being of our employees within the workplace. The OHS will play a vital role in promoting occupational health and safety, providing medical care and support for work-related injuries and illnesses, and implementing preventive health programs. , Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, occupational health, public health, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA), or Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) preferred.
  • Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) or Certified Occupational Health Nurse-Specialist (COHN-S) certification preferred.
  • Minimum of [X] years of experience in occupational health, employee health, or related field, with demonstrated expertise in occupational health services, case management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Knowledge of occupational health regulations, standards, and best practices, including OSHA, ADA, FMLA, and workers' compensation regulations.
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and occupational health software.

Responsibilities:

  • Occupational Health Services:Provide clinical assessment and treatment of work-related injuries and illnesses, including first aid, medical evaluation, and referral to appropriate medical providers as needed. Manage cases of occupational injuries and illnesses, ensuring timely and appropriate care and follow-up.
  • Health Promotion and Education:Develop and implement health promotion programs and initiatives to support employee wellness and prevent occupational injuries and illnesses. Educate employees on preventive health measures, ergonomic principles, and safety practices through training sessions, workshops, and informational materials.
  • Pre-Employment Screening:Conduct pre-employment health screenings and assessments to evaluate the physical and mental fitness of job applicants for specific roles. Review medical histories, perform physical examinations, and assess candidates' ability to perform job duties safely and effectively.
  • Health Surveillance:Implement health surveillance programs to monitor and track the health status of employees exposed to occupational hazards, such as noise, chemicals, and radiation. Conduct periodic health screenings, tests, and assessments to detect early signs of occupational-related health conditions.
  • Worksite Hazard Identification:Collaborate with safety professionals, environmental health specialists, and management to identify workplace hazards and assess risks to employee health and safety. Recommend and implement control measures to mitigate hazards and improve occupational health outcomes.
  • Injury and Illness Prevention:Develop and implement strategies to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses, including ergonomic assessments, job hazard analyses, and safety training programs. Conduct investigations of workplace incidents and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Regulatory Compliance:Ensure compliance with all applicable occupational health regulations, standards, and guidelines, including OSHA, ADA, FMLA, and state-specific regulations. Stay informed about regulatory changes and updates and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
  • Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate and confidential medical records of occupational health services provided, including injury reports, treatment documentation, and health surveillance data. Prepare reports and summaries for management, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders as needed.

Compensation | Min: $68,000 Max: $125,000

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
