Arcfield is seeking several Senior Nuclear Engineers to support efforts in and around both Hill Air Force Base, UT and Kirtland AFB, NM. These positions will support both Lead Project Officer activity at Kirtland AFB, NM and System Engineering & Integration (SE&I) in or around Hill AFB, UT. Responsibilities
What you will do…
Assist leadership with goal setting and help determine approaches and methods most suitable to accomplish those goals
Perform technical services related to SE&I as directed by the Government
Provide support for and participate as a member of the W78/W87-0 and W87-1 SE&I Sub-Groups
Organize, lead and assist research teams and related efforts
Advise and counsel team members as unique challenges and difficulties arise
Review work and collaborate with team members
Qualifications
Required
BS degree in Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or related field with 9 years of experience, or MS degree with 6 years of experience, or PHD with 3 years of experience
Must POSSESS and be able to maintain a Top-Secret clearance
Knowledge and experience in maintaining currency with the Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear weapons lifecycle phases and the Phase 6.x process
Knowledge and experience in maintaining DOD system lifecycle phases and associated system engineering processes
Understanding of radiation transport with emphasis on neutron and photon transport
Understanding of nuclear fission/fusion processes
Programming experience in Python, C++, or Fortran
Extensive knowledge of differential equations, computational physics, and numerical analysis
Experience with simulation software such as MCNP, GEANT, or OpenMC
Preferred
You have experience with Air Force nuclear weapon systems, ICBM experience preferred with a detailed understanding of system employment throughout the Stockpile to Target Sequence (STS) and lifecycle
You are self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups
You have strong written, oral and listening communication skills
You have the flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules and priorities
