.NET Technical Lead

Collinwood is assisting our client, a fast growing hospitality/entertainment company, in their efforts to engage/hire an experienced .NET Technical Lead. As the Technical Lead (.NET), you will play a pivotal role within their development team. This position requires a seasoned developer with a minimum of 7-10 years of experience and a strong understanding of Microsoft technologies (.NET, .NET Core, PowerShell). In this role, you will lead and mentor a team of developers, providing technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle. You will be responsible for architecting and designing robust software solutions, defining best practices, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software.
What you will be doing:
  • Lead and mentor a team of developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing development environment.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle, from design and architecture to implementation and deployment.
  • Define development best practices, procedures, and coding standards to ensure consistent and maintainable code.
  • Analyze and understand complex business and functional requirements, translating them into clear technical specifications.
  • Architect and design robust, scalable, and secure software solutions leveraging Microsoft technologies (.NET, .NET Core, PowerShell).
  • Champion DevOps initiatives within the team, implementing robust testing strategies and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with operations and testing teams to ensure smooth deployments and ongoing system health.
  • Guide code reviews, mentor junior developers, and foster a culture of continuous learning within the team.
  • Present and defend technical solutions and design choices to internal and external stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Demonstrate experience in Azure Cloud, particularly in leveraging Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Data Factory pipelines to automate tasks and integrate with various web services and APIs.
What we need from you:
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in software development with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies (.NET, .NET Core, PowerShell).
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Strong foundation in programming fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming).
  • Solid understanding of relational database concepts, including data modeling, schema design, and querying using SQL. Experience with writing efficient and maintainable SQL queries to retrieve, manipulate, and update data in relational databases.
  • Experience with best practices for software development, including design patterns, clean code principles, and version control systems.
  • Experience working with APIs, web endpoints, and data access (structured and unstructured).
  • Solid understanding of security best practices and the ability to deliver code that meets high security standards.
  • Experience working in an environment with large, complex data sets (a plus).
  • Experience with SSIS (a plus).
  • Familiarity with DevOps principles and CI/CD practices is preferred.
  • Proficient with Azure Cloud, particularly Azure Functions and Logic Apps. In this context, a basic understanding means familiarity with the concept of serverless compute with Azure Functions and the ability to automate workflows by integrating various services with Logic Apps.
  • Experience working with integrations related to POS systems, ERP systems, or eCommerce systems.
  • Understanding of data compliance regulations, such as GDPR and PCI.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field (e.g., Software Engineering, Information Technology).
