Overview
Under the direction of the assigned manager, prepares closing documents for residential mortgage loans within designated timeframes. This position communicates with production associates regarding closing information, closing issues, answering questions or obtaining any additional documentation required to complete the loan file. Also responsible for working with title companies/closing agents to ensure adherence to mortgage underwriting requirements and closing procedures.
Additionally, the Closing Specialist I reviews all title related documents and closing disclosures for accuracy and compliance with Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) and TRID requirements prior to approval-to-fund. This position works with the closing manager/supervisor to produce required tickets for funding and orders the wire for remittance of closing funds. The Mortgage Loan Closer ensures compliance with bank, regulatory and investor requirements, as well as, quality customer service standards.
Responsibilities
Issue closing instructions when directed to Title Companies/Closing Agents. Provide all necessary documents. Review title commitment, tax information, lock documentation, insurance information, real estate contract, if applicable, underwriting approval, and all other documentation relative to the closing transaction
Prepare and Review closing disclosure for compliance with the contract and underwriting, to verify that all disbursements meet loan criteria. Ensure the receipt within the required timeframe by the customer.
