Responsibilities
Write clean, maintainable code and perform peer code-reviews;
Implement designs and develop for Android application(s);
Ensure adherence to defined development life cycle, good software design practices, and Architecture strategy;
Take part in coding, testing, implementation and documentation of solutions;
Propose innovative tools, frameworks, automations and processes that are used by the mobile development team;
Oversee the entire feature delivery process, from requirement gathering to development and functional testing, which includes writing Jira stories, writing clean code, writing unit tests, integration tests, acceptance tests, and contract tests;
Work with team members in different locations to promote engineering excellence.

Essential Skills
Experience in mobile development - Kotlin, Java, Android SDK/Frameworks, REST APIs, JSON;
Excellent understanding of the entire Android development cycle;
Experience with Object Oriented (OO) software design;
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as GIT;
Experience with any/all of the following is a large plus: Android Clean Architecture, multi-module, Coroutines, Jetpack Compose, databinding, Dagger 2, RxJava (nice-to-have), JUnit, Mockito MockK;
Debugging and problem solving skills;
Experience working on enterprise or consumer-grade apps, building SDKs and/or payment processing, encryption, etc.;
Strong understanding of software development principles, capabilities and limitations of mobile platform(s);
Experience sizing and estimating projects based on technical documents and Jira stories;
Retail and ecommerce experience preferred;
Personal software projects or open source contributions a plus;
Passion for Mobile development;
Knowledge of software engineering best practices and coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations;
Bachelor's complete or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or a related discipline is a must.
