We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our team. As a Medical Biller, you will play a crucial role in facilitating communication between our practice, patients, and insurance providers. Starting with on-site training in Massachusetts, this position will transition to a remote role, requiring candidates to be based in the New England area.
Reporting to the Revenue Cycle Manager, this non-exempt, hybrid role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our team's success.
Responsibilities
As our Medical Biller, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Acting as a liaison between the practice, patients, billing consultants, and insurance companies.
Managing patient and insurance billing, including assisting with patient registration, insurance verification, and authorization tracking.
Electronically preparing and submitting clean claims to various insurance companies.
Performing ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding for office and facility-based visits.
Accurately preparing and posting vascular reading charges.
Maintaining timely and accurate billing data preparation.
Effectively communicating with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients regarding patient coverage, billing inquiries, and issues.
Ensuring the resolution of claims between the practice, insurance companies, and patients.
Keeping records of invoices to patients for remaining balances after insurance payouts.
Conducting regular follow-ups on outstanding accounts and unpaid claims.
Supporting accurate and efficient billing processes and financial close.
Processing payments from insurance companies.
Maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines and ensuring confidentiality of patient information.
Completing ad hoc projects as required to support the billing and revenue cycle management team.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in the medical billing field required.
Strong knowledge of vascular medical coding.
Proficiency in various computer programs.
Exceptional customer service skills.
