Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

Summary:

Mu-Del Electronics is looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer to design, develop RF components, sub-systems and systems to support the manufacturing of specialized RF products. The Mechanical Engineer will develop, design, sketch specifications; create and/or supervise the creation of prototypes for proposed products and packaging concepts.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred, with 1 – 5 years of work experience in analysis, design and development of electromechanical equipment, components, assemblies and systems
• Applicable co-op experience can be applied to years of experience
• Experience with Solidworks
• Experience with mechanical design for manufacturing of electronic products and/or assemblies
• Have working knowledge and understanding of electronic/electro-mechanical packaging, including design with respect to heat transfer, shock, vibration and harsh environments
• General knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes and associated tolerances
• Worked with electronic components and PCBs, preferably RF
• Familiarity with shock and vibration, specifically per military 810 (MIL-STD-810G) specifications and procedures
• Have excellent people, written, and communications skills
  
  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participate in the assembly and testing of engineering prototype designs
• Ability to perform heat transfer and predicted stress analysis using classical engineering methods and simulation tools
• Develop, design, sketch, specify and create prototypes of proposed packaging/system – to present for design approval
