Supports engineering efforts in manufacturing environment. Develops, designs, and tests mechanical prototypes to increase efficiency of production. Oversee the manufacturing process for mechanical components, equipment and systems.

Major Responsibilities:

• Assists in problem solving relating to product/process systems.
• Developing and testing prototypes of designs.
• Investigate and test ideas to improve existing systems.
• Evaluating and improving the efficiency of mechanical devices and systems.
• Troubleshooting various electro-mechanical systems and machine centers.
• Maintaining tooling inventory essential to the wire extrusion and copper drawing process.
• Develop and/or update process parameters for manufacturing processes.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new products, processes, and systems.
• Product quality verification checks.
• Interfacing with various wire and cable industry vendors.
• General focus on process improvement and cost savings projects.
• Create and implement standard operating procedures for manufacturing teams.
• Participate in daily GEMBA walks and Kaizen meetings.
  
  

Minimum Requirements:

• BS Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Preferred)
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
• Strong communication skills
• Basic troubleshooting skills
• Team first attitude with the ability to work and produce positive results independently
• AutoCAD (with Inventor Professional) skills preferred
  
  

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to maneuver through racks, aisles, and other areas of the plant.
• Physical activity including, but not limited to, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, lifting (up to 50lbs), and walking (up to 80% of the day).
• Ability to climb ladders as needed for auditing/ inspections.
• Open to working early mornings or evening hours to support operations as needed.
