Mechanical Design Engineer

A growing engineering and construction firm is seeking a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in HVAC and Plumbing to join their team. This role offers opportunities for professional growth and development, as well as competitive compensation and benefits.

Compensation:

• Salary range $75K-$100K, based on experience

Responsibilities:

• Develop new customer relationships and pursue design/build mechanical construction projects
• Assemble detailed cost estimates for piping and sheet metal systems
• Write detailed scopes of work and solicit proposals from sub-contractors and equipment vendors
• Perform load calculations and building energy modeling for projects
• Produce detailed design work in AutoCAD and REVIT
• Coordinate mechanical requirements with other design disciplines
• Specify material and equipment requirements, manufacturers, and vendors
• Assist the project management team with scope and specification review
• Provide design consultation on field changes and conflicts
• Perform periodic quality control field inspections
• Consult with service and warranty departments on troubleshooting

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 2+ years of experience in consulting engineering firms
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems
• Experience with AutoCAD and REVIT
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Customer-facing experience
• Detail-oriented, creative, competitive, and driven
