Position Summary

The successful candidate will play an integral role on the IR team in developing new investor relationships, strengthening relationships with existing clients, and assisting in new product development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development: The professional’s primary focus will on be on capital raising for B Capital’s funds, which include a Growth Fund series, a Venture Fund series, and thematic funds we raise on an opportunistic basis. This individual will be self-motivated, articulate, and willing to travel. The candidate will have a strong understanding of institutional portfolio management and a track record of developing relationships with institutional investors, including investment consultants, pensions, insurance companies, endowments, and foundations.
  • Client Development: The professional will also be responsible for maintaining consistent dialogue with B Capital’s existing investors and keeping them informed on the latest developments around the firm and our portfolios. This will require superior relationship management and communications skills.
  • Branding and Marketing Communications: The successful candidate will work to enhance B Capital’s brand as a market leader in the venture capital industry. This includes the continued refinement and development of marketing materials and offering memoranda, preparation of responses to client or prospective investor inquiries relating to the firm’s offerings and investment strategy, and the authoring of new marketing content. The role will also entail helping plan and execute investor conferences, including but not limited to roadshows and annual general meetings for existing investors and prospective ones.

Candidate Qualifications

  • 7-10+ years of work experience, preferably in fundraising and investor relations at an alternative's investment manager or a placement agent
  • Prior work in venture capital or private equity with a technology angle is preferred
  • Strong track record in maintaining LP relationships
  • Ability to develop strong product knowledge and understanding of venture strategies and the competitive landscape
  • Content-driven approach to relationship management
  • Process-driven, self-motivated and able to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
  • Background in banking or consulting is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, as required by the role

The salary range is $270,000 - $400,000 and will commensurate according to relevant experiences.

Salary range applies to California & New York candidates only. The actual salary may subject to change.
