McPherson/Eveillard Post-MFA Fellow in Film and Media Studies

The Department of Film and Media Studies at Smith College invites applications for a Post-M.F.A. fellowship, to begin July 1, 2024. This is a one-year position with a possible one-year renewal. We seek candidates with an active creative practice in film/video, college-level teaching experience, and a strong command of video production equipment and software. The successful candidate will offer one course per semester and will oversee the department’s equipment inventory and facilities (with student worker support and a limit of 10 hours per week devoted to this part of the job) . Teaching responsibilities for this position will be Introduction to Video Production in Fall 2024, and either another section of that course in Spring 2025 or Advanced Video Production. Candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to teaching and supporting underrepresented student groups. Candidates from groups underrepresented in Film and Media Studies are encouraged to apply. MFA required, by time of appointment and should have been earned no earlier than 2019.
