The Marine Engineer will be the technical lead for, research, design and development of products and equipment that are complimentary to the product line. The Marine Engineer will have product design experience suitable for maritime vessels and have a strong understanding of shipboard systems and environments. You will work in a team environment with other engineers and project management to execute the design, analysis, and testing to achieve final product development. You will work with Product Management and leadership to ensure that designs align with corporate strategy and customer requirements.
Qualifications:
Technical aptitude for design, analysis, fabrication, testing, and development of marine systems
Knowledge of and familiarity with; the vessels Hull both Electrical and Mechanical Systems (HM&E)
Knowledge of vessel propulsions systems strongly preferred.
Strong 3D/2D design software skills. Proficient with one of the following SolidWorks, CREO, Pro/E, Nastran
Excellent written and oral technical communication skills
Strong mechanical aptitude, hands on mechanical skills with hand tools and mechanical repair
Knowledge of fabrication practices, such as welding, machining, finishing, assembly, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct research, perform tests, and analyze results to design and validate prototype and pre-production level parts and assemblies.
Generate technical documents, reports, and summaries for internal and external review.
Create, review, and modify engineering prints and drawings.
Supervise engineering team to ensure work product is accurate and meets customer requirements.
Coordinate with internal and external manufacturing resources to ensure proper fabrication of designed components
Validate manufacturing in pre-production environments.
Investigate, diagnose, and troubleshoot prototype level design iterations to correct technical issues
Ensure designs meet all requirements.
Education and/or Experience:
BS in Marine Engineering, BS Mechanical Engineer with Marine experience.
MS or PE preferred.
Understanding of shipboard and shipyard technical requirements
10+ years in engineering related to maritime environments.
This position requires 10 plus years’ experience. US citizenship, green card, perm resident, is required. A generous salary and benefits packaging will be provided. PTO, 401k, medical, etc.
