Design and Marketing Consultant, Business Developer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • This is a hands-on position, critical to production floor operations. Your primary responsibilities include working directly with Engineering and the production floor staff to drive and maintain consistent quality manufacturing and resulting product.
  • You are also key to streamlining and improving process on the floor, liaising between Production and Engineering, and partnering with Purchasing for vendor sourcing and component-related issues resolution.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the senior electrical engineer to transition prototype systems into released products.
  • Improve manufacturing and inventory quality processes according to our ISO9001 standards.
  • Work with Purchasing to coordinate acquisition of inventory supplies.
  • Perform, supervise or verify Acceptance Test Procedures.
  • Troubleshoot assembly and test issues on the production floor.
  • Improve and revise documents such as production instructions, acceptance test procedures and bills of material.
  • Initiate, coordinate and implement ECOs (engineering change orders) per senior electrical engineer.
  • Identify opportunities to improve our products, production techniques, testing and business practices to improve cost, manufacturability, quality, reliability, longevity and marketability.
  • Research and select vendors for second sourcing of products.
  • Assignments as needed by management and senior electrical engineer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate degree in industrial, manufacturing or mechanical engineering.
  • Familiar with electronic and LED lighting products.
  • 1 to 5 year experience as a manufacturing or industrial engineer.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software applications, including Visio.
  • Experience with CAD programs (e.g. SolidWorks) and ERP systems (Sage 100 or comparable) is a strong plus.
  • Strong and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proactive dedication to production quality and serving customers.
  • Strong team player who cultivates a healthful, interactive team environment.
  • Enthusiastic about working in a small, growing company.

  • The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.




Work hours:

Monday – Thursday: 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
