LOCATION: Hawai‘i (O‘ahu or Hawai‘I Island)

What You’ll Do

We are looking for a candidate who is willing to both lead and be led as we work towards our collective 2030 vision in Hawai‘i. This role will contribute to a variety of core workstreams detailed below in responsibilities. The ideal candidate is a team player who is willing to contribute to the collective team’s vision, able to work across multiple workstreams, skilled at building relationships with others, and energized by engagement with our corps members and alumni.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • CM Program (35%) – support the corps member program continuum beginning with confirming and onboarding new corps members, supporting pre-service training and summer practicum, planning and facilitating ‘āina-based programming, and executing our alternative route to credential program
  • Early Literacy (25%) – promote and contribute to advancing early literacy strategy and initiatives including supporting the Ignite fellowship, collaborating with community coalitions, advancing early literacy policies, and implementing the science of reading across the program continuum
  • Alumni Network (20%) – contribute to the alumni network team, which is charged to support alumni leadership and strengthen the alumni network, with a prioritized focus on school and system leadership.
  • Regional Team (20%) – all Hawai‘i team members will contribute time to cross-team projects and all staff expectations, including selection of corps member or ignite fellows and facilitating and engaging in all staff gatherings and learning experiences


A WEEK IN THE LIFE

Over the course of any week, the Manager, Regional Team Initiatives will spend time across a variety of workstreams. Each day will look different. Some days, you may spend engaging with community members to discuss early literacy initiatives or plan ‘āina-based programming; other days you may be on the phone with new corps members helping to steward their transition; other days, you might spend behind a computer developing summer curriculum and/or developing plans for an upcoming alumni leadership gathering.

Your Experience

Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role (minimum qualifications):

  • At least 5 years of related work experience
  • Experience setting vision and leading and managing teams of people to outcomes
  • Strong strategic thinking and project management skills
  • Strong orientation to partnerships; ability to build and cultivate relationships with diverse stakeholders and invest and mobilize groups of constituents
  • Track record of getting results while managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willingness to work occasional weekend or evening work hours
  • Baseline knowledge of Hawai‘i histories, culture, and context


BONUS (preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience working in Hawai‘i’s public education system
  • Relationships with Teach For America Hawai‘i alumni
